Alternate Mode: Cybertronian Truck
Height: 5cm Length: 12cm Width: 6cm
A bright red truck with purple camouflage and some silver detailing on top, Swindle has large black wheels, black cowcatchers at the front and various black vents on top. There's a silver grille at the front and behind this a large black G2 Decepticon logo. The cabin is conspicuous in it's absence; which kind of makes sense as the original is an open truck. The colour work well in a garish-but-thought-out G2 way. Unlike some of his teammates, Swindle's camouflage doesn't cross any seams.
This is a rather stylised truck. He's a curved red lump on wheels rather than something designed to transport anything. It's actually a lump that looks somewhat hollow from sone side angles, mind you. While this vehicle mode is somewhat indistinct it does have quite a bit of sculpted detailing. I'ver already mentioned the grille and the vents; Swindle also features pistons behind the insignia & black exhausts on either side.
The play value here is minimal. He can roll on his wheels & the black gun can plug into a hole in the centre of the topside.
A somewhat generic & uninspiring vehicle mode, although it's well formed. The colours work in their way and the sculpt is good, but Swindle's vehicle mode doesn't really excite. There's no real flaw here, mind you - even if it's a very static vehicle.
TRANSFORMATION TO ROBOT MODE
Detach and set aside the gun. Unclip the rear end, split and unfold to form his legs. Rotate the waist, flip out his feet. Unclip the mufflers to form his arms, swing the front half over to form his chest, flip out the head. Pivot the arms up, rotate the forearms and give Swindle his gun.
Height: 15cm Width: 9.5cm
A red robot with purple camouflage on his chest & boots, Swindle has black feet, thighs, fists, elbows along with a black groin and black head with orange eyestrain. The Decepticon logo is now on his chest. The silver pistons now form a sort of collar around his head and there's also silver on his boots, rounding out an effective colour scheme.
While this is his better mode, it actually has more flaws than Swindle's vehicle mode. The chest is actually an angled plate so it's gappy towards the bottom and the cowcatchers stick out somewhat awkwardly. Aesthetically this robot mode actually works very well, aside from the gappiness. His face is a little generic; it doesn't have the bug-eyes seen on the G1/G2 toys or the G1 cartoon. The piston colour is a great feature though. The shoulder joints look silly in standard Hasbro photos, but can sit higher and look much better when properly positioned.
Swindle's poseability is decent, although it's hampered by the odd angle of his chest. His head & waist turns, although neither offer much poseability - the he'd because it's surrounded by a collar and the waist because it sits a fair distance behind the bottom of his chest. The shoulders, elbows & hips are ball jointed while his knees are hinged with rotators. Swindle has big boots & feet sculpted so he stands in a relaxed pose. His boots are much longer than his thighs, and while it looks okay visually, it does hamper the range of effective leg poseability. The gun attaching in either relaxed fist is all he gets for play value outside his poseability.
A visually attractive robot mode, even if the torso is somewhat awkward and the thighs too short for his relaxed-pose legs. Swindle's face doesn't really look like Swindle but this is still a nioce enough robot mode. It's not awesome but this is his better mode.
None that I'm aware of. He's a recolour of the Comicon Swindle & "regular" FOC Swindle.
One of the weaker Fall of Cybertron Combaticons, Swindle's vehicle mode is just too indistinct and his robot mode looks nice but has a few significant flaws. The colour scheme works in a G2 way, but it's one of the most garish colour schemes that G2 gave us. While I do think his robot mode displays well, I'd only recommend this mould as part of the set - 6.5/10
